Brief Description: Sikaflex and the rear canopy - 02
After I was happy with the aft and side edges I moved to the front and shifted the canopy back and forth until I had the fit I wanted. Or at least the fit I was going to get. We tightened a cargo strap around the aircraft placing pressure on the portion of the canopy on top of the roll bar.
Next was laying down a bead around the edges with my finger. It is just chauking your bathtub. Run you ringer along removing the excess of a nice bead of material. After the outside was completed I moved to the inside to lay a nice bead next to the roll bar. I can not get to the edge of the canopy running around the sides of the aircraft, the balls are in the way. Tomorrow morning I will remove the strap and the balls and then lay down a bead. This bead will not be visible so I am less concerned about how it looks.
As the last step of the day I removed all the exterior tape and the tape along the back of the roll bar. After laying the last bead down I will pull all the plastic from the canopy.
