Monday through Friday I worked on getting the rear canopy ready for installation. I went through several installations and removals for installation and masking. One of the issues I need to resolve was keeping pressure on the canopy from the inside to ensure it stayed up against the skin. I cut a 1x10 to fit across the longerons and then used vinyl inflatable balls. I bought the balls at K-Mart, they are the kind that have a small hole for a needle inflation tool. Using really low air pressure inflated (or deflated) the balls until I got the pressure I wanted. By wedging the ball into the side of the canopy I can keep a uniform pressure against the skin.
All of this took time over several days. But by Friday I was ready to start the Sikaflex process.
