Brief Description:  Tail fairing fit - 02

The right side is another story. The fit seems to be influenced by the slight offset of the vertical stabilizer. The vertical is mounted pointing a few degrees to the left and I believe this impacts the fit of the fairing. After trimming the left side fit fine, but the right side is still about 1/8" for the HS (see image three.)

And there are some issues with bulges. In the same location as the left VS I have a slight bulge. This too seems to be controlable with a mounting screw. It would be great to get it flat, but I don't think it is going to be worth the time. You can see how the leading edge lifted away from the right side of the fuselage (see image one.) I tightly taped the fairing in place and heated it with my heat gun. I worked slowly and image two shows the results, a much closer fit. The left side lifted also, but not to the degree as the right side. The installation instructions suggest two screws at the bottom of both sides of the fairing at this location. When I put pressure on the fairing at that location both sides sit down tightly.

The biggest issue is the fit on the right horizontal. Not sure how I am going to address this problem.
