Brief Description:  Canopy and canopy frame work

Worked on a few different tasks all related to the canopy. Got some help and removed the canopy for one more trim job. Trimmed both sides about an 3/32" but more importantly I corrected the bevel in those locations to match the curve of the skin. I won't know for sure until I get it back on the aircraft. This really took most of my time today, especially the smoothing and sanding.

Drilled the splice for the crossmember the canopy attaches to aft of the seats. Vans has you predrill the splice, but you can not reach it in between it and the roll bar. The splice is an angled piece that can not be mounted on the forward side. I read online that someone suggested creating a template and placing the template on the forward side. You can see the template in image two. Using it to align with the pre-drilled holes I drilled them to final size. Once I remove the frame I will countersink and rivet the splice in place.

I drill the aft rivet line of the skin to size.
