I am pretty sure the canopy frame and the canopy will both move slightly when I remove them, I decided to install the canopy reinforcement ribs before going any further with the canopy fitting. I had previous prepared them for installation including priming. So today's tasks was the clamp, drill, deburr and dimple the three pieces. The frame is much more rigid with them clecoed in place. I am sure it will tighten up even more when riveted.
I test fitted the canopy after reinstalling the frame. The fit around the ears is better, but needs more work. I identified two areas to trim on the forward edge of the canopy. Hopefully I am getting close.
