The canopy frame has a stiffiner that is added after the canopy is trimmed, but before it is permanent mounted. There are three ribs that need to have flanges created (read bent) in the lightening holes, There are nine holes.
I created the small tool in image one which kind of worked. A better tool as a plastice rod that I cut a small opening in (not pictured.) Between the two I have been slowly creating the flanges.
