Brief Description:  Big cut

I set up for the big cut last night. Measured everything and placed tape on the line I wanted to cut. But by morning I had changed my mind. I decided to trim the forward part of the canopy a little more before cutting the canopy in half.

This morning I ripped off all the tape and worked on identifying the curve I wanted from the sides to the forward edge. After about an hour I trimmed the foward edge and worked on creating a bevel across the front. The bevel needs more work and there is a little more that needs to be trimmed. Both sides lay flat but the middle of the forward edge still sits up about 1/16".

Satisfied that I was close to final on the forward trim I went back to the "Big Cut." I put the tape back down to identify my cut line. It had shifted slightly at the bottom but not by much. After getting everything ready I called my wife and she came over to help. Her had two jobs:

1. Watch my cutting angle and correct me if it looked off. She did!
2. Place tape down as I was cutting.

It was a non-event. I used my Dremel tool and a 2 1/2" cutting disc and cutting went smoothly and easily. I made two passes marking the material and then started cutting at one edge. I was really worried that I would crack the canopy. But in the end it was just another cut.
