Brief Description: Flight controls and aileron stops
I installed the flight controls so I could check the rigging of the ailerons and the elevators. First step was to install the aileron stops. As the stop is located on the inside of the aileron hinge bracket I needed someway to place the stop in the correct location, I fabricated a small alignment jig to assist in the placement of the stop. Using a digital level to ensure the correct amount of aileron movement, I attached the alignment jig to the outside of hinge bracket using double sided tape. Once the alignment jig was in place I drilled the two mounting holes through the jig and through the aileron hinge bracket. Once drilled I clecoed the stop in place. After I finish with the rest of the flight control rigging I will remove the ailerons and rivet the stop in place.
I also checked the aileron rigging Left and Rigt have 29 degrees of travel up and 17 degrees down. The elevator ihas 27 degrees up and 25.4 down. All within manufacture specifications.
