Brief Description: Vertical Stabilizer, rudder and rudder stops
Finished all the drilling for the vertical stabilizer by adding the three bolts at the bottom of the VS. Those were the only three left to complete. I took photos, but left my camera at the hangar. I will post them later.
The last two items were hanging the rudder to check for proper clearance and no binding. I think I hung and took off the rudder six or seven times before I was satisfied with the end results. With that completed I could fabricate my rudder stops. I made them to the specs in the plans but they were too short to ensure the minimum edge distance between the rudder and the elevator. I called Vans and they said this was typical. They are sending me some more material so I can fabricate larger stops.
