Brief Description: Mounting the vertical stabilizer - 02
At this stage the only easy solution was to fabricate a new F-781. Fortunately I had a sheet of 0.063 aluminum available. Using the old F-781 I fabricated a new one that was longer so it would correct the edge distance issues with both the rivet line and the bolts. All three images show the new F-781 clamped in place. One issue that I needed to ensure was included in the new plate was the offset of the VS. The old F-781 had a joggle to it that offset the VS 1/4" to the left. Using the old F-781 I duplicated the offset. After clamping the new plate inplace I checked the offset and it was within 1/64" of 1/4"
