After checking out the new fuel pickup and verifying everything was ready, I went on to installation of the fuel pickup, fuel level sensor and sealing the tank. Specific tasks completed were:
Installing the fuel pickup and torquing the nut to 130 in lbs. Installing the anti-rotation device, applying tank sealant and riveting it in place Installing the fuel level sensor. applying tank sealant and installing the appropriate screws Installing the fuel tank access cover, applying tank sealant and the apropriate screws
During those tasks I had tank sealant open and mixed. Everything I touched had tank sealant on it; all the tools, my work bench, everything. I made a decision NOT to pickup my camera and take pictures along the way. Image one shows the tank access cover sealed and screwed in place. I took that after I cleaned up all my tools and workarea.
Image two shows the multimeter reading from the fuel level sensor. The wing is upside down on the workbench so the fuel sensor is in the full up or full position. With all the sealant I was concerned about the ground connection. I connected my multimeter to check for continuity, and at a full tank it should read 30 Ohms.
