Brief Description:  Tool box

I was complaning to a friend about the lack of space in my tool chest. I had tools laying on top of tools. He suggested that I get a tool box at Harbor Freight when the go on sale. A good idea that needed action. Harbor Freight had a large 14 drawer tool box on sale, so I bought it and the seven drawer side unit as well on Friday. Getting a 285 pound tool box out of the back of my truck with just my wife was interesting. But we got it done.

Today I spent the better part of five hours organizing tools. That may sound like I have lots of tools, and I do have lot. When my dad died I inherited a very large collection of tools. Then my father-in-law died and I got more tools. Too many. The process today was identifing duplicate tools:

two complete sets each of standard and metric sockets,
four vise-grip wrenches of the same size
I do not know how many combination wrenches.

and getting things organized in the new box. All the duplication was set aside for my son. I am not sure how I will get them to him, but they're his. I continued to find more tools stashed here and there. Of course, finding more tools required re-arranging the new tool box. At the end of the day I had only two drawers in the old tool box empty.

I also picked up a stand for my grinder. That made more space on my work bench.
