Brief Description:  Flap pushtube adjustment

I had just a couple of hours today to work on the airplane. Still trying to get the flap pushtube and flap travel adjusted. The manual states to set the flap travel to a maximum of 40 - 45 degrees. I taped my digital level to the flap on top of one of the rib rivet lines. I ran the flap motor to full up checking for clearance of the pushtube, then to full down again checking for clearance. Full up was not an issue, the amount of material I removed from the fuselage allowed full travel up. Going down was another issue. It took several iterations of installing the pushtube, running the flap motor to the full down, marking the area to be removed, removing the pushtube, working on removing material from the fuselage (using my dremel) and repeating. I could have done this work a lot faster had I just remove a significant amount of material. My desire was to remove just enough material to allow full and free travel without taking excess material. I like the final results. I moved to the left flap pushtube.

To make this work go faster I made a template of the right flap opening and transferred the opening size to the left side. Using my drill and dremel I quickly made the opening on that side. Unfortunately I had an apporintment so I had to leave it at that stage. Tomorrow I will hook the pushtube and check clearance. I know I need to remove a little materail, I purposely made a smaller opening so I can slowly make it the correct size.

No photos. I managed to delete them.
