Brief Description:  Flap pushtube fabrication

I needed to fabricate two pushtubes to connect the flaps to the flap weldment. Cutting the tubing to size was done sometime ago. I have been pondering how I was going to ream the inner diameter to size so I can tap them. The bearings are threaded to screw into the pushtube.

So ...... I decided to take a large block of wood and used my drillpress to drill a hole in the center slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the tubing. Using my bandsaw I split the block. I used the block as clamp to hold the tubing in place during the reaming / drilling. Image one shows the tubing in the block and the block in my drill press vise. I used a second clamp to make sure the tubing did not spin while I drilled the inside diameter to the correct size. In the image it looks like the tubing is not aligned properly, but I think it is just the perspective of the camera. I spent a lot of time making sure it was properly aligned. After drilling I used the same block to hold the tubing in my bench vise while tapping. Image three shows the completed pushtube with the bearings screwed into place
