Brief Description:  Wing projects - 01

Today I called an EAA Technical Counselor to see if he could look at my wings before I rivet on the last skin. He had time this morning and came over to look at the wings. He ended up reviewing the entire project and liked what he saw. He gave me several tips for the work ahead of me and reviewed the wings, fuselage and tail. It is great to have someone knowledgable review your work. As I watched him review the project, it appeared he was looking in specific areas. He would look at something for a minute, then move right to another area. I guess the best way to describe it, he was moving with purpose from area to area; not wandering around. Everything was okay and he said so.

After he left I went to work finishing several small projects within the wings. After they are complete I will rivet the last skin on the bottom of the wings. First was protecting the wiring within the wing. The wiring for the landing lights run through large lightening holes in the wing spar. I covered those edges with a grommet wrap and I used spiral wrap to protect the roll servo wires. I still need to tie the landing light wiring together. There has to be a certain amount of slack so the light can be removed from the front of the aircraft.
