Brief Description:  Assembling the sticks

The pilot-side stick pipe does not fit flush into the pilot stick bottom buckle--the pipe's OD is narrower than the buckle's ID, requiring a shim. Randy Richmond crafted a shim on his lathe, so the pipe now fits snugly. I anchored it with an AN3-12 bolt and nut.

I went through a dozen iterations if installing the sticks into their buckles, and stick/buckle assemblies into the aircraft, check free movement throughout the range of motion, set the clocking position, then drill holes through the stick/buckle combo for anchor bolts/nuts. I had to be sure the sticks (with the stick grips mounted) would not interfere with the aluminum plate that will hold the engine throttle/mixture controls.

Installing the Infinity stick grips required mounting them at a turned-in clock position to accomodate each pilot's hand. The pilot's stick (left side) is a left-hand grip while the copilot's stick is a right-hand grip. Therefore, each grip must turn inward toward the center of the aircraft. With those clock positions marked, and with the correct final length determined, I drilled bolt holes and wire notches into the pipes.
