Brief Description: Bottom cowling fitting and trimming
I spent hours fitting and trimming the bottom cowling to the top, and didn't take nearly enough photos. To summarize, - I kept working the front end to get as tight/flush fit as possible between the top/bottom halves. The flange edges do not align, so I'll have to build them up (see images 2 and 3). - I used the same 2" marking technique that I used on the top half back edge to trim the bottom half's back edge. This came out pretty well I think. - The side edges were tough, and they just aren't that perfect, so I'll have to settle for good. I got the top half's side edges as straight as I can. The top cowl's side edges served as my trim reference for the bottom cowling.
I finished with my first hack at fiberglass cloth build-up on the forward flanges, which I'll leave to cure for a few days until I can return. This will be slow going, but such is the nature of epoxy.
