For a while now I had thought that the design without any direct access to the rear of the instrument panel was not exactly a clever one so I decided to finally make some holes!
I measured out where the canopy fibreglass fairing will reach and added five cms more for comfort and then marked out and cut out two access holes. I reinforced the cut out area with L angles around it and bend the horizontal L angles to the curvature of the firewall and instrument panel. I fabricated an inset to hold the access hatch itself and will look to use Rivinuts to hold the hatches in place. Turned out really neat so far and I am quite happy with it.
