More time today spent working with the rear canopy hoop. After attempting to rebend another canopy hoop we reverted to the already drilled rear canopy hoop and after matching it to the middle canopy hoop found that the following two factors were causing the misalignment:
- In the same fashion as a parallelagram (sp?) the hoop need to "lean" to one side more; and - The right hand side requires a shim to raise it slightly.
Over the next few days I will bend the hoop to fit.
Other clean up issues were the triming of the canopy's rough cut and sanding to smooth the edges. Fashioning a nylon shim to press the canopy's edge out at the join to ensure true alignment with the fuselage. I need to purchase a belt and disc sander to finish this element off.
