Brief Description: Researched and Purchased Tool Kit
I did a lot of research before buying tools. I'm an Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Officer so I'm not entirely clueless about aircraft related tools. Of course, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for so I decided early on that I wasn't going to skimp on tools. Having said that I wasn't willing to may any more than I had to. There's only a few tool dealers out there selling full RV tool kits designed for guys like me who have never done sheetmetal work let alone built an airplane. Avery is the better know but in my opinion not the best "deal". I'm sure Avery sells a good set but Shaun Isham's set stacked up higher in my line-by-line comparison. The clincher was the DRDT2 dimpler and the pheumatic squeezer. I've talked to a lot of guys who have/are building airplanes and they tell me these two upgrades are worth the extra cash. Time will tell. Somebody remind me to up date this when I'm done and I'll tell you if I made the right decision.
