Brief Description:  Primer

Did a LOT of reading about primer. There seems to be no lack of opinion about the proper way to prime parts. On the one hand some folks believe that priming is a waste of time, "There are a lot of 50 year old aircraft around today without primed inners". On the other hand some folks go to the other extreme like your sealed rookie card. My opinion is this, I want my grandchildren to be able to fly this airplane when I'm six feet under. It's a NEW airplane and I want it to stay that way as long as I'm doing the annuals myself. My grandchildren will have their own maintenance problems, but corrosion shouldn't be one of them...even if I do decide to retire to the salty air of Florida. Decided to go with the Two Part epoxy system. It will add a lot of time, but I think it'll be worth it. It goes something like this: AlumiPrep 33 Rinse Dry Alodine 1201 Dry Shoot Primer Dry Install. I'm not crazy about working with caustic chemicals so I ordered a mask. I might move up to a forced air breathing system, but we'll see just how much this stuff wreaks. I just hope the cops don't show up thinking I have a meth lab.
