Brief Description:  Canopy Rails

Spent most of the day fixing the canopy rails. When they were drilled originally when the longeron was bent, apparently I missed where teh canopy rails were supposed to be placed. When I tried to put them on today they wouldn't line up. After contemplating just about everything, including changing out the longerons, I figured out most of the holes would still line up. The holes that were misdrilled got drilled correctly then I fabricated a couple of doublers to put on the backside. They won't be see but will give me a little piece of mind. I'll keep my eye on the longerons in that area for cracks, but I think the doubler will do the trick.

This whole process still places the canopy deck and canopy rails about 1/4 inch too far aft. After studing the drawings it appears that this will cause the forward flange of the canopy deck to be too far aft when it mates up with the bulkhead. I'll fabricate a spacer to make up the differnce when the time comes.
