Continuing with the first step in the cowl build is the top attachment from the nosebowl to the firewall. The trapezoidal shape of this 0.025" aluminum piece allows the significant curvature at the nosebowl to transition to the flat section in the back. Hinges allow the flat-panel doors that wrap around the cowling to open by undoing only a few fasteners, thereby enabling a thorough pre-flight of the engine compartment.
