Brief Description:  USB hub

So I hooked up the USB hub today. Nice compact metal box that accepts 12v DC and has 4 USB 2.0 ports. It's "aircraft grade"and only $44 with free shipping from the Amazon Avionics department. This unit connects to the single USB port on the EFIS and will serve two purposes: the first is to connect with the SkyRadar D2 ADS-B "in"receiver. The second is to allow connection to a panel-mountUSB port where you can upload software to (or download flight data from) the EFIS. That will leave two additional ports available for some other gadgets, though I can't imagine what at this point. Power for the HUB is coming from the main power bus, so if I revert to E-BUS operation in an emergency situation, I will lose ADS-B "in" capability. If things get that dire, I won't be concerned about losing traffic or weather, since I'll be almost certainly talking with ATC at that point.

I'm hoping I'll find space for both the ARINC 429 unit and the SkyRadar units on this bit of real estate behind the panel.
