Brief Description: Weight and Balance of the Aircraft
Not a bad weight, and the CG sits at 10.64...which is pretty typical of most Rebels.
I am quite proud of these numbers, given that my estimates and calculations needed to include:
1. The fact that no one has ever installed a corvair engine in a rebel, so my engine mount calculations needed to be correct 2. unknown weight of cowling and nose bowl 3. The additional weights and positions of the AP servos and wiring, one of which is in the tail cone 4. ELT and wiring weight and location in tailcone 5. Firewall position of Odyssey battery 7. 50 lbs and position for the BRS installation
Borrowed a fellow aviator's car scale
wish it were lower, but pretty good with the equipment on board
