Calibrated the sight gauges by marking addition of gallon increments with the plane in flight attitude. I've seen builders try and show two different set of markings for 3-point and in-flight attitudes, but I concluded that the sight gauges are most critical while in flight (flight attitude). On the ground, I fabricated a fuel testing stick to accurately assess fuel quantities before each flight.
