Still waiting for the BRS parachute to be completed and shipped, so I performed the differential compression tests on the corvair cylinders (see maintenance log for details). Lowest reading was 74/80, highest was 78/80. These are acceptable values given the low time this engine has been operated.
Also performed a boroscope inspection of the inside of the cylinders. This Youtube video details what to look for: https://youtu.be/Dk5o4__0y-4
Since my engine has less than 2 hours on it, not enough time has elapsed for the valves to develop tell-tale deposits. The engine has also been sitting for several weeks so oil has crept around the piston head and deposited in the quench area. Best to perform this inspection a few hours after an engine has cooled.
Overall, between the low time, the compression test (cold) and the boroscope inspection, I don't see anything concerning.
