Brief Description:  Wing wiring

With the plane back in the garage, I am working on to-do list items. Today, it was wing wiring.

Wiring for the NAV/Strobe/position lights and landing lights in the left wing required some conduit for the outboard part of the wing. Purchased some lightweight nylon tube from McMaster and some large grommets to hold the conduit in place (Image 1). Conduit is 3/4" I.D. to easily accept the wire bundle and to accept additonal wires should the need arise in the future.

Image 2 shows how the 6-position connectors are wired (landing lights and positon/nav/strobe share the same ground). The shielding on the nav/pos/strobe wiring is the center pin, and is grounded to the wing at the wing tip.

Image 3: A 4-place Switchcraft connector to allow easy disconnection of the wing-tip, if necessary.

Notes: The white(NAV) wire connects to the red (NAV) wire on the Aveo unit. The red (STROBE) wire connects to the yellow strobe wire on the Aveo unit. The blue wire connects the two Aveo units on each wing to allow synchronous strobe flashes.
