As the name implies, the wing-gap fairings clean up the gap between these two structures both above and below the wings. They are made up of three separate pieces due to the curvature of the wing.
The instructions suggest the fairing is rivetted permanently to the wing while resting on the fuselage side. I have chosen rivnuts to make these easily removed and 8-32 aluminum screws to save weight.
The photo shows how the fiberglass fairing covers the small opening where the parachute webbing will enter the wing gap area from the roof.
