Brief Description: BRS part 5: canister clearances
The rough cut out is 16.75" x 11". With the flange installed it goes down to 15.75" x 10". The canister sits approximately 1" from the roof surface.
THere is approximately 1.5" clearance between the edge of the window and the rocket. THe bridles will be stored on the forward surface of the canister, so they can be pulled from the unit through the fairly wide 2.5" clearance between the canister and the flange. The two other clearances are about 0.5".
The fore-aft opening is larger than necessary, and was a result of the trimming of the egress openign doubler to accept a 1st generation canister. This new version has different dimensions, but the extra clearances are only a good thing.
