Brief Description:  Wheel Fairing Attach Bracket Part 2

Here's the bracket on the gear assembly. Image one shows the 1/16" gap I have around the brake assembly. I may need to take off more material if I find the bracket flexing under side wind loads. That flex would cause interference with the brake assembly. The 3/16" holes are where the nutplates and 8-32 stainless screws will be used to fasten to the wheel pants.

Image 2 shows the really tight tolerances in the vicinity of the nuts as they tighten up against the flange (the 'flat' on the axle has a mirror finish so a bit of an optical illusion here). The flange has just enough surface for this all to work. I used SS nuts and bolts here to avoid rust creating a maintenance nightmare.

Image 3 shows the 1/4" spacers needed to offset the bracket from the rotating brake disc and bolts.

See part 3 for the wheel fairing install.
