Holy cow...covering the ailerons takes WAY more time than the 4-5 pages in the manual lead you to believe. Prepping each aileron as you see it in Image 1 takes at least 1 hour: filing down edges, bending edges toward the inside, covering rivets with reinforcing tape, and pre-treatment with 2-coats of polybrush. Then you can cut the fabric and start Poly-tacking it to the trailing edge; gives you Image 2, ready for 250 degree heat shrinking. I borrowed the poly-fiber instruction book from a local EAA member, because I wanted to supplement the MAM insructions. There are indeed a lot of good tips in there that make you feel more comfortable with the process, and most imporantly, define some very important limits in terms of iron temperatures
