Brief Description:  Windshield Install Part 3

Laying up the retainer. MAM provides 3 strips of glass cloth, each 4" by 12'. I decided to wet each one up on a piece of peel-ply (scrap polyester dress liner from Joann fabric) to allow easy handling of the fabric. I just thought it was more comfortable than wetting each piece out right there on the plane.

Ultimately elected to cut sections of cloth because they didn't always want to conform to the heavy bends on the outside edges of the windshield.

This all took 4 hours in one sitting: mix up a batch of epoxy, wet up a strip on the bench, transfer to the plane, repeat. I used pretty much the whole roll of bias-cut glass provided by MAM.

Image three shows the holes drilled before removal (suggested by Wayne).

Time to trim along the dotted line and start filing and sanding
