Brief Description:  Fiddling with controls and kick-plates

With the roll servo mounted, I've been messing around with the control system to make sure the clearances are OK. There are some linkages that have only 1/16" gaps between moving and fixed parts, so I had to make sure there is no interference through the entire range of motion. You know how you're supposed to check 'controls free and correct' during every preflight? Well, this is me making sure that's true.

This one photo shows a few things. Controls are indeed free and clear (though the auto pilot servo now has to be part of my preflight list, as a linkage failure here could be catastrophic). I like that it is not only easy to visually inspect the installation, but you can reach down and "jiggle" key bolts and rod ends to make sure they haven't loosened up or become worn.

You can also see the kick-plates installed along the forward carry-through. These protect the transponder antenna on the co-pilot side, and the ADS-B receiver antenna on the pilot-side. Also, you can see the push-to-talk (PTT) wires coming out from under the kick-plates. These are just 18 Gauge wires(wrapped in red spiral wrap) that will ultimately snake up through the joy-stick and end with a PPT switch on the top of each joy-stick.

The center kick plate is easily removable so I can inspect the fuel connections (also protected by kick-plate).
