Now we can start the process of fabricating the four cowling panels that bridge the top and bottom fixed cowl segments. Poster-board is cut to size and trimmed while clecoed onto the lower hinge, just like the final aluminum piece will be. The curvature around the nose bowl takes some finesse, and I'm looking for only 3/4" overlap around the firewall. The edge I'm holding between my fingers is very close to where the final part will end, and I will leave an extra inch that will be given a 90 degree bend for strength.
