Brief Description:  Alternator bracket

The 18 Amp John Deere alternator is seen here temporarily hanging in the circulat attach bracket. The attach bracket is custom installed for each engine, so one needs to first support the bracket off the front of the heads with a 5/16" bolt and spacer, then clamp onto a seond bracket attached to the engine case (Image 2) that then needs to be drilled for three AN3 bolts. You can see spacers between these last two, to allow correct fore/aft allignment of the alternator pulley with the drive pulley on the black flywheel (not visible here). Again, not difficult steps but you have to assess for the requisite hardware and order it from ACS. Hard to see here, but the two AN6 bolts that hold the smaller bracket to the case are JUST short enough to install without needed to remove the whole flywheel/pulley/prophub assembly...which was a tremendous relief.
