Brief Description:  cabin interior (part 2)

Let's review some of the speacial features of this interior.

1. I have elected to install marine pulleys (instead of fairleads) for the rudder pedals. Advisory Circular says anything more than 3 deg should have pulleys, and I found these small Nylatron sheaves (rated to 900lbs) to be ideal for this space.

2. 1" Ralmark Pulleys at bulkhead A for the same reasons as above.

3. Over 20 10-32 (AN3) size floating nutplates (Clickbond) placed throughout the floor for future use. On the rear left, 10 are dedicated to the aircraft track that will hold the third seat when needed. 4 along bulkhead A with which to affix a vertical cargo net to prevent accidental CG nightmares. 6 or so behind the pilot seat for eye-bolt installation or tie downs. 3 in the same area on bulkhead "E"(?) for the BRS 'chute attach (also flush riveted along there to accomodate the channel that will be screwed to the floor...more on that later). 5 between the front seats for various eventualities like a fire extinguisher, and conduit to route the BRS 'chute release mechanism.

4. Several 10-32 tapped 3/16 holes in the FUS-05 carrythroughs to accomodate who-knows-what.

5. Lowered lap seat belt attach points below the door sill. Apparently, the factory positions for these can make entrance and egress hard on the cojones.

6. Added a 0.025" channel and 1/8" seatbelt attach bracket to floor for 5-point seat belt upgrade for each front seat. True, 3-point belts are the minimum, but race cars use 5... Cirrus, Diamond, Remos, Cessan Skycatcher, etc...aal use 4 on their new models.

7. Diamond-plate on the door sills. Fairly soft aluminum alloy, but will definitely help firm up this under-designed and heavily used area.....plus I like the rugged look!

8. Additional seat belt attach points for third seat. One on floor and one (with two possible holes) on the side (AN4 clickbonds). A lot of thought went into the positioning of these to maintain the correct restraint angles for the rear seat.

9. Two-piece control column b
