Today was wing root day. Fitted the wing root angle, fluted the strip that rivets to the inboard non-root rib and root skins, the fabricated L-angle extension, and fitted (sort of) the root skins. I have been dreading this part as I know many builders have problems getting a good fit. Guess I'm in good company. Up to this point all the skins have been perfectly aligned with the holes, but these just didn't want to play nice. When I do final assembly for riveting, I'll probably try to make some adjustments, maybe try to pull the folded root skin in a bit with a longer fabricated L- extension and rivet, or see if I can fabricate something to fill the gap. I'll give that some thought. I may just wait and see how the port wing turns out before riveting. To get the holes in the root nose rib, I drilled the 2 holes in the flanges that needed them, then was able to sneak in a strap duplicator to drill the skin.
