Brief Description: Attached dash cover, gluing moulding to windshield
Cleaned the dash surface in preparation for applying adhesive. Set up paper barriers to help prevent overspray. Sprayed 3M adhesive to the center of dash and cover and positioned. With the center portion straight, I sprayed the sides and put them in place. Some overspray got on the material, so cleaned it up as best I could, but the outcome was blotchy. I sprayed it with Armor-All protectant and it looks great. Set the windshield back into place and cleco'd. Apparently, the material stretched a bit when I secured it, so I trimmed the edges a bit more. I tried lifting the moulding to see if I would be able to apply adhesive with the windshield in place, but the moulding kept coming off. Decided it would be better to glue it to the windshield first. Applied automotive adhesive/sealant to the moulding and secured to the windshield. Unfortunately, I neglected to protect against drips and runs and some got on the windshield. No luck getting it off right away. I sure hope it will come off when dry. I really don't want to go through this with another windshield. keeping my fingers crossed.
