Brief Description:  Planning/Shelf

Today ended up being mostly a planning day. Cut some plywood to use as an avionics shelf. Played the DVD that came with the Viking engine to get an understanding of the engine wiring. Frequently stopped the DVD to examine the engine and wiring harness. Aside from the harness that came with the engine, I don't have the interior wires made up. Still need to order wire and terminal hardware, switches, breakers, etc. Just wanted to start planning the layout. After a couple of variations, I settled on the preliminary configuration shown below. Cut some scrap sheet to use as a battery strap. The buss bars are for the engine only. i have left room for additional busses for avionics. Temporarily secured components to the shelf with wood screws. Set the shelf inside behind the folding panel. It sits nicely on the firewall support ledge and the cabin frame cross bar. If I end up using the plywood, I will add Ls on the firewall and cabin cross bar to secure the shelf. Guess I found some use for that crate plywood from all the replacement parts from Zenith I have gone through.
