Brief Description:  Seat bases

I really only got 2 things done today. I realized there were some pre-fabricated L angles taped to the fuselage sides. These were for the cabin side reinforcements. I had already fabricated half of them, but I switched to the provided ones as they appeared to be made of slightly thicker material than the usual L angles.

The vast majority of the time was spent trimming the seat bases to fit better. There is a lot that needs shaved off the outboard sides to make the holes line up without forcing it. I did a little at a time until the fit was good. Essentially, all the little corners and indentations (except for the long indentations for the vertical supports get cut away and new ones have to be created to match the side skin. Because so much had to be taken off, the support indentations needed to be deepened. What it amounts to is the seat bases are made too wide and the outboard edge on each need to be remade. Took a long time on the first one with countless test fits, mark, trim, repeat. Anywhere from 0-10mm at various points on the outboard side needed to be shaved off. The 2nd one went faster as I had a feel for how much and where needed to be removed.

I had contacted Roger about the misalignment in the seat channel and he sent replacements with the top holes undrilled. Turns out that after all the excess was trimmed from the outboard seat bases, the holes lined up fine. So anyone reading this and not to this point yet make a note, if the holes in the seat channel are misaligned with the seat base, you need to aggressively trim the outboard edge of the seat bases.

I now have an extra pair of seat channels, but thats ok. I'm thinking of getting a pair of the new Viking header tanks with the pump inside. If I do, the seat channels may become mounting brackets for the header tanks.
