Brief Description:  Pilot drill bottom longerons to bottom skin

Officially started on the fuselage. Unwrapped the bottom skin and marked inside/outside and pilot/passenger sides. Unwrapped longerons. Cleco'd the bottom skin extension to the bottom skin. Flipped the skin bottom up. I used scrap 2X4s to support the longeron/skin edge. Working from the middle first, I drilled and cleco'd towards the front every other hole. Once a few holes were drilled and cleco'd I clamped the longeron to the skin at both ends. I was worried that it would be tough to keep the skin against the groove, but once it got started, it wasn't that tough. When in the groove, the skin is almost completely flat against the high side of the longeron. If the skin started to climb the groove or move away, repositioning the end clamps got it back in the groove properly. In any event, the end clamps need to be periodically loosened to release skin waves that form as the skin gets drilled or cleco'd. Finished each side by drilling from the middle to the back. Then drilled every other hole not already drilled. Essentially, I followed the Jon Croke HBH video for this part. I definetly didn't have excessive overhang of the longerons, maybe 1.5 inches or so each end, so I'm glad I positioned the longeron correctly before drilling. I like how these parts are coming together so far. At this point all drilling has been to #40.
