Brief Description: Pitot/Static and electrical from wings
|
|
Today I roughed in the pitot/static lines, wing light wires, and fuel sensor wires from the wings to the dashboard area. I started by grommeting the door channel in the pre-cut hole and routing the pitot/static line tubing. Since I already had the penetrations from the wings, I started by going down the door channel, under the seat base, through the seat support lightening holes, and out one of the grommeted holes on the pilot side. I continued along the floor where the supports have gaps and up to the dash area. I added a clamp to help direct the tubing. Plenty of extra tubing on both ends as I didn't form the connections yet.
Then I ran the 3 strand shielded wire for the wing lights down the door channel and under the seat base as well. There is a gap where the front seat support meets the control tunnel which is large enough for the wire to fit, so instead of going along the cabin side, I routed them into the center console area via the gap. No connections made on either end.
The fuel sensor wires were next and followed the routing of the pitot/static lines. Getting the wire down the door channel with the pitot/static and wing light wires already run was a bit tricky and time consuming, I should have done it first, but eventually I got them run.
I will eventually need protection added to the lightening holes under the seat to prevent the lines/wires from chafing.
