Brief Description: Fuel tank positioning, trailing skin debur, fly-in
Our neighborhood fly-in is this weekend and I spent most of the time today getting the wing assembly ready to move and in the state of in-progress I intend to display. I cleaned up the flaperon brackets as I think that would be a good opportunity to do some hand riveting at the fly-in and give folks an opportunity to pull a rivet if they would like. I riveted on the inboard tank support bracket, so I could position the gas tank, which I will just lift out to rivet the flaperon bracket there. All the flaperon brackets are ready for cortec and riveting. Just a few tools and supplies will need to accompany the wing to the fly-in.
Also located and deburred the trailing edge skins.
I'm at the point where I need to make a couple of decisions. I'm pretty sure I will replace the rubber fuel lines Zenith provided with aluminum tubing. I also need to decide which what I want to do about the fuel senders that Zenith provided. I understand they tend to be problematic. With work and the fly-in this weekend, I don't expect to make much progress on the plane itself, so I have a bit of time to ponder the options.
