Completed riveting the skin on the vertical fin. Checked the fit by clecoing the fin onto its mount points. The fit of the fin skin to the stab skin was astounding! I will probably take just a sliver off in a couple of places to prevent the edge of the fin from digging into the stab skin, but the curvature was just about exact. Zenith really outdid themselves with the changes to the fin kit parts. I have no regrets about scrapping my first attempt at the fin and ordering the updated parts. One of the nastiest assemblies is now one of the easiest and most straightforward. Way to go Zenith!
I initially had some difficulty attaching the rudder piano hinge. Had to locate and straighten one of the barrels that somehow got misaligned just slightly. Ended up using the hinge wire from my original kit as it is a few mm longer and made it slightly easier to install/remove.
