Brief Description:  Started running rudder cables

Started out by riveting the control horn to the rudder which I had left off as a matter of convenience until now. Cleco'd the vertical fin in place and added rudder with hinge pin. Inserted each end of remaining wire spool into rear slot and threaded the ends through their respective fairleads. This was actually pretty tough as the cut ends wanted to fray and not go through the fairlead holes, particularly the one most forward. Finally got them done by heating a section of shrink tubing onto the fraying end. The tubing wouldn't go through the holes, but it kept the end together enough to get it started through the fairlead as the tubing slipped back off the cable. Swaged the forward ends of the cable and attached to rudder pedals with shackles. I attached the turnbuckle hardware to the rudder, but did not swage it yet. Used clamps behind the nicopress sleeve to temporarily lock the cable position. I can tell I will need to elongate the cable holes in the fuselage in both directions to prevent metal to metal contact. Checking the cable runs inside the fuselage revealed that one rudder cable is a little too close for comfort to where I placed the ELT mount. I will need to relocate it. Haven't tensioned the cables, but the rudder pedals move the rudder, so I hope to get the cabling done tomorrow.
