Took the measurements and weights and created a spreadsheet for weight and balance. With an empty weight of 888lbs I ran the numbers for both 1320 and 1440 gross weights. Decided to forgo the E-LSA and plan for a EAB certificate at 1440. Most of my flying will be solo, but 1440 at least lets me take an occasional passenger with reasonable fuel, if not full tanks. Empty, without fuel, the plane is out of the envelope, but add a pilot and fuel, and it is green to gross weight. With the Viking up front, there is no possibility of an excessive aft CG.
