Had more difficulty than expected reinstalling the cowling. I think some bondo or other material made its way into the grooves for the piano hinges. With some clean-up and lubrication, I got it fitted again. I was never able from the start to get the hinge pins all the way up to the nose, but they go far enough to make it rock-solid. Shortened the pins and drilled holes for the bent ends to lock into the fuselage side. With the cowl on, I could still get some minor slippage against the top of the cowl and fuselage. I applied some flex-seal to the bottom of the top edge of the top cowl and when it cured, that stopped any possible sliding and abraision.
