Brief Description:  Drilled stiffeners for cockpit top skin, lightenin

Started experimenting with ways to provide abraision protection where wires and lines pass through lightening holes. Finally came up with the solution of rimming the holes with nylon loom. Just get it started and let it slide around the hole. Seems to want to stay on pretty well. Did a couple of sample holes, but will do more when the temperature is a bit warmer.

Since I didn't want to work with any plastic in the cold weather, I addressed a task I had been deferring, adding the L angle stiffeners to the top skin and drilling the console flange. I drilled the console flange first. Then I cut and drilled the 2 inner L angle stiffeners as they didn't need any crimping to be formed correctly. Finally, I did the outer L stiffeners. Because the console face and rim are cut out to allow it to fold forward there is no lip for the stiffener to go under on that end. I left it a little long and will decide what to do with it later. Still need to debur and treat the rivet holes. Fortunately, with the stiffeners in place I can still fold the skin up and out of the way to facilitate access for more work behind the console.
