Brief Description:  Connected flaperons to controls

Used a hole punch to mark the drill point for the flaperon pivot center on both sides. Removed inboard flaperons and drilled the holes. In my case, the pivot point is located fairly low and the mounting holes for the pivot point would interfere with the plexiglass window pane when it gets installed, so I had to make some adjustment to where I put the bottom holes for the square mounting and reshape the mountings a bit. The mountings were another item that I had powder coated, so I ended up using a rattle can to touch up where I had to shape and smooth. Anyways, I finished drilling and riveted the pivot points into the side skins. Replaced the inboard flaperons and reconnected the splice plates.

The pivot hole in the flaperon attach fitting is not perfectly located at the pivot radius, so there is some slight "wobble" and flexing of the skin when the flaperons move. Not sure how it would ever be perfect. My concern is that the flexing happens right near the edge of the window. Will have to see how this plays out.

Next, drilled holes opposite the slots on the inside to help with connecting the vertical rods to the flaperons. Not sure how you could ever do this without another access unless the channel cover was not already riveted, which would raise another bunch of issues. Anyways, got the rods connected to the flaperons. The curved slots in the skin were not lined up with the path of the flaperons, so I spent some time widening those.

Still need to tweak the controls to get proper alignment and travel, but at least I have the flaperons moving in the right direction when the stick is moved sideways.
